Department of Political Science
Position beginning Fall 2011
The Department of Political Science at Hebrew University in Jerusalem is conducting a search for a new faculty member, at entry or more senior levels. The department is willing to accept applicants in all fields of political science, with the exception of international relations. Suitable candidates must have a proven record of excellence in research and have been awarded (or be near completion of) a PhD in political science. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in Hebrew within a few years of their arrival.
The deadline for applications is October 1, 2010. Candidates who are accepted by the department will compete with candidates from other departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences for available positions. Applications should include the following items:
- Curriculum Vitae (including teaching experience)
- “Scientific biography” outlining research orientation and plans for coming years
- List of required and elective courses the candidate can teach
- Electronic copies of up to 3 recent published articles (or conference papers)
- Cover letter stating willingness to begin teaching in the fall of 2011
In addition, three letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the search committee.
